“What you hear - you forget, what you see - you remember, what you do - you understand.” (Old Chinese Proverb).
In addition to the extremely strong software available from Apple in the form of the iLife and the iWork suite of apps, we have researched and identified a number of software and hardware solutions that embody the best representation of tools that can be used to facilitate 21st century learning.
From stop motion animation on both Macs and iPads, to 3D Timeline software, to subtitling software for innovative practice in language learning, not to mention fully digital language laboratories, we are able to help you either map your curriculum to some of the best apps out there, or to help you repurpose traditional applications to facilitate transformative practice in the classroom.
Our hardware offerings include the Labdisc from Globisens, a multi-sensor science data gathering instrument which works independently or tethered to a Mac, PC or iPad. Bring science and data to life—record and understand.

Education is part of Digicape's DNA.
In the Primary and Secondary arena, Digicape has been responsible for large projects, such as the Parklands Apple One2One rollout, which has seen over 550 Macs and 350 iPads implemented at Parkland College over the last 3 years. We have trained the teachers, consulted and supported the IT Department and generally been an integral partner in the success of one of the largest One2One Apple implementations in Africa.
Digicape assisted with the Khanya Mac Project which saw the rollout of Macs across the Western Cape and provided direct support for some of the larger implementations including the Grove Primary School pilot which aimed to investigate the effect iBooks had on improving literacy and numeracy in Grade 4 to Grade 6.
Digicape is the official Apple supplier to the University of Cape Town and has trained the ICTS support team in first line support. We also supply most of the major universities in the country, including the University of Witwatersrand, Stellenbosch University and the University of the Free State.

“… The professionalism as well as the fun aspects presented to us by both Andre and Paul from (Digicape), both excellent trainers, added to the enthusiasm with which the training was received. It was almost impossible to get the educators out of the laboratory to take breaks.” Richard Knaggs, Parklands College Director of Technology
“The ‘ohs and ahs’ at the show and tell before we all left at 16h20 was proof of the commitment of the learners, principals and educators who engaged and collaborated enthusiastically. All agreed that (animation) can be used effectively as a tool across curriculum. Sincere thanks to Digicape for the support and expertise.”
After 90 minutes the Khanya staff understood that Apple technology lends itself to a wealth of innovative and creative excitement. Sincere appreciation is again expressed to Alan and his staff for the preparation, presentation and support.
“The workshop was such a success and the project produced by each group of such high standard that they have been encouraged to enter the iLife Competition and in an Animation competition.” Chas Ahrends - Khanya Special Projects Manager on a Digicape I Can Animate workshop.
